Custom ManufacturingKokoBean provides custom manufacturing and private label services for all customers with quantity needs over 1,000 pieces. We can use a prototype or sample that you have on-hand, or we can use our existing measurement and fabric specs from our Koko Bean line of baby and children's apparel. Please see below for answers to some of the most common questions we receive about custom manufacturing: Custom manufacturing helps your baby clothing business save money due to its "Buy in Bulk" nature. The more garments you purchase, the lower the per-item cost. This method of purchase provides you with extreme discounts which raises your per-item profit, helping your business on the path of success. All our custom manufactured products include your own private label, giving your garments a more professional look. There will be no other company's logo inside the garment besides your own. It is truly your custom-made garment at prices lower than any wholesaler can offer you. What is the order minimum? We do have a strict minimum of 1,000 pieces with every custom manufacturing order, with a minimum of 800 pieces per color, 100 pieces per size and 300 pieces per style. If you have custom artwork that you want printed on the garments, the minimum is 300 pieces per custom print. We are only able to offer extremely discounted prices on bulk orders over this minimum. We work closely with our manufacturers to provide our customers this special service in these smaller quantities and unfortunately can not go below this 1,000 unit minimum. For organic orders, the minimum may be much higher. What can I have custom manufactured? We can custom manufacture any clothing garment you want. Whether it is adult or children's clothing, we can do it! How long does the process take? The manufacturing process only takes approx. 6 weeks, and shipping adds another 4 weeks. Receiving a sample for approval can add an additional 2 weeks to the process with an additional 2 weeks for any incidentals. The total process usually takes approx. 14-18 weeks from receipt of your deposit and final color, fabric, and measurement specs., however this is just an estimation. It is always best to get the process started at least 4 months before you need the garments. How much does it cost to have my clothing line custom manufactured? Each customer is custom quoted due to the different nature of every order. As soon as we receive all the necessary details we need from you, you should receive a custom quote within 72 hours. What information do you need from me in order to provide me with a custom quote? The easiest way to order private label is to just use existing Koko Bean garments re-labeled with your own company tag. You will need to provide us with your quantities per color, style and size, as well as the fabric content you want to use if you are not interested in working with our existing garment specs. If you have any custom artwork or further order details that may affect the cost, you will need to provide us with that information so that our quote is as accurate as possible for you. If we do not have all the information, the quote is subject to change based on any new information you provide us. All quotes are good for 30 days. What else will you require from me in order to process my order? Other than payment, we will need you to provide us with your Pantone Color choices in TPX format for textiles. Pantone is a universal color system that allows the manufacturer to dye the garments with the exact color you pick out. You will need to choose the colors from a Pantone Textile color guide in order to choose the accurate TPX color code. We will also require you to provide us with a finalized fabric choice and spec sheet with all your measurements (unless you are using our existing specs). Lastly we will require you to approve samples before bulk manufacturing starts. How much is the deposit? We require payment in-full before any custom manufacturing order is started. We will provide you with a complete and finalized invoice, which includes shipping and import fees, before manufacturing begins. The manufacturing process will not start until payment is received. The invoice will only change if you make a change to the order, such as a quantity or fabric change. When do I do if actual shipping costs are different than the amount I pre-paid for shipping? The additional balance for any shipping and import fees will be due within 30 days of receiving shipment. How are the items packaged? Each garment is individually packaged in a resealable clear poly-bag and labeled. All items are packed and shipped in cardboard boxes. What shipping method do you use? We ship all garments by sea, which helps our customers save on shipping fees. This process can take up to 6 weeks. We can also ship by air per the customer's request, however this method is much more costly. What should I expect to pay for shipping? Shipping costs are always changing based on current rates and your location, however you can expect to pay approx. $0.25-$0.40 USD per item in shipping fees if you are shipping by sea. If you ship by air, the price per piece can range anywhere from $0.50-$2.00 USD, depending on your order size and location. Why can't I pay for my own shipping? We have to ensure that shipment is paid for so that the shipping agent does not pursue the manufacturer for any non-payment. Traditionally if the receiver of goods does not pay an outstanding balance, the shipping agent will go after the shipper, which is the manufacturer. For this reason alone, we pay the shipping fees in order to protect the manufacturer from having to pay any bills that have not been paid by the customer. If you have a preferred shipping agent, we will be happy to use them, but will still require that all shipping related costs are pre-paid. What are import fees and duties? These are fees charged by the government on all imported goods. This fee is charged in addition to your shipping fee. Each item has a different import fee attached to it. This fee is calculated as a percentage of the item's value. Sometimes the percentage is as low as 8%, however it can be as high as 16%. We have no control over this fee as it is set by the US government. We usually see a percentage of approx. 15%. You can expect import duties to add approx. $0.20 USD to each item, however this fee will vary depending on what you order. Are there any additional or hidden fees that I should be aware of? No! We make your per-item costs very easy and clear to see on your invoice. It will break-down costs per item, as well as any additional service fees like printing, etc. The invoice will also give you a per-item cost for shipping and import duties and fees. Unless you are located in the state of Hawaii, there is no tax on your order. Lastly, we charge $100 for all samples. This mostly covers the shipping charges to get them from India to your door for approval. There are never any hidden fees with us! Anything else I should know? Koko Bean is not the manufacturer of the garments. We are a third-party coordinator that helps assist our customers in the manufacturing process. We help our customers save money based on our business-relationship with our manufacturer, protect them from fraudulent over-seas business dealings, arrange for shipment, and serve as a liaison between the manufacturer, shipper, and you. We work on your behalf. Our goal is to provide you with the quality product you desire and make sure that the manufacturing process is running smoothly. We are not responsible for any manufacturing defects or problems that may arise with shipping and you will see a paragraph on your invoice stating that we will not be financially responsible for any manufacturing or shipping-related problems with your order. If any manufacturing or shipping problems do arise, we will work with you and give you all the necessary information you need to pursue action against the manufacturer or shipper. I still have more questions. Contact us with any more questions you may have about our private label and custom manufacturing services. We are always happy to answer any questions you may have. |
