Shipping, Returns, & Store Policies
All website orders received by 12:00 PM HST will be shipped, for the most part, within 2-3 business days excluding national holidays.
Shipment of orders over $1,000, orders with more than 35 different attributes, or orders placed outside the website, may take additional business days. Also, orders placed during a sale or for sale or clearance items may take additional time to fill due to high sales volume. For the most part, all orders ship within 3-5 business days of placement, and often ship within 2-3 business days.
When you place an order, shipping and delivery dates are based on the availability of your items and the shipping options you choose. It is always best to go on your chosen shipper's website and plug-in our zip-code of 96740 to see how long shipping will take to your destination, based on the shipping option you chose and the delivery location. Due to our Hawaii location, shipping times can take several days longer than they do on the Mainland USA. Please keep this in mind when choosing your shipping option, especially if you are on a tight time line. As a quick reference for our US customers, USPS Priority can take approx. 3-5 business days (We notice about 2-3 business days to the west coast and 4-5 business days to the east coast), UPS Ground can take approx. 3 business days to get to the west coast, and approx. 5 business days to get to the east coast. USPS Express and UPS 2nd Day Air takes 2 business days. International shipping via Priority can take approx. 2 weeks while International Express shipping can take approx. 1 week.
Koko Bean retains the right to modify the shipping option our customers choose if:
All customers who choose UPS as their shipping method will receive a courtesy e-mail from UPS with package tracking information. This e-mail will be sent to the e-mail address customers have listed under their account. We will also update the customer’s account on our website with the tracking number and shipment information.
All customers who choose USPS as their shipment method can obtain shipping information through their account history on our website. Simply log-in to your account and click on “Orders” or “History” to see shipping status updates, including tracking information.
Koko Bean will update customers' account status to "Shipped" once an air bill has been printed for all shipping methods. We will include a tracking number for all shipments.
Calculating Shipping Cost
Shipping costs depend upon the method and option you choose. For your protection, we only offer shipping options that have tracking and/or delivery confirmation. For this reason, all international orders shipped via USPS will be shipped either Express or Priority.
Please note that the shipping rates for all items we sell are weight-based. The weight of any such item can be found on its detail page. To reflect the policies of the shipping companies we use, all weights will be rounded up to the next full pound. We do not add any excessive shipping charges to any of our orders. Shipping charges are calculated by the shipping couriers we offer based on the weight of your package, shipping method you choose, and location where the order is being shipped. These costs are auto-populated and are usually within several dollars of what we spend on shipping packages to our customers. Furthermore, our US customers with orders of $200 or more can estimate that shipping will cost approx. 10-15% of the total order. Please note it is a little more expensive to ship items from Hawaii, which is why you may find our shipping rates are a few dollars more than our mainland counterparts.
All international orders received by 12:00 PM HST will be shipped within 3 business days, excluding national holidays. International customers are responsible for all import duties, fees and taxes. Shipping rates quoted on site only cover shipping expenses. Koko Bean LLC will not be responsible for any fees incurred as a result of importing goods to other countries. On rare occasions, international shipments may be delayed in customs. Koko Bean LLC declares all package values and contents and will not ship any merchandise as gifts. Koko Bean LLC will not be responsible for any package delivery delays due to customs clearance. We offer a more affordable shipping option to our international customers by using USPS Priority International. International customers who choose this shipping method understand that USPS Priority International is a less reliable, trackless, slower shipping method that carries many more risks. We are happy to ship using this method in order to offer a more affordable international shipping option. If an international customer uses USPS International Priority, Koko Bean LLC will release all risk and liability due to any shipping-related problems that may arise by using this more affordable shipping method.
All phone orders will incur a $5 convenience fee. As an internet-based business, we operate best if all orders are placed through the website. Although we really enjoy talking with all our customers and helping them place their orders, orders placed outside the website take additional inventory tracking and pulling time, as well as custom shipping quotes, and we unfortunately have to pass this cost on to the customer. We apologize for this. Please feel free to call us and we will be happy to walk you through placing your order online so you do not have to incur this fee.
General Returns/Exchange Policy
Domestic Customers (USA Only):
We are confident that you will be thrilled with your Koko Bean purchase. However if for any reason you are unhappy with an item, we will gladly accept it for an exchange within 14 days of your purchase. You will be offered site credit for all returns. All returns are subject to a 15% restocking fee which will be deducted from your credit. To receive return shipping instructions, please send us an e-mail through our Contact Us page and provide us with your order number, as well as a list of items you wish to exchange. We are only able to accept brand new garments that have not been worn, washed, or altered and are still in their original packaging. Return shipping expenses will only be refunded if we sent you a wrong or defective item, however we will ship all newly exchanged items at our own expense if this is the case. We are happy to offer you a refund instead of an exchange/site credit if we sent you a wrong or defective item. We will not accept returns from any customers who have their order shipped to a third-party (like their seamstress or printer).
Please note although USPS PARCEL POST in most other states can take 4-7 days to arrive, this service can take approximately 6 weeks or longer when shipping packages to and from Hawaii. We require that all returns are shipped via USPS Priority or an equivalent service such as UPS or FedEx Ground with tracking and delivery confirmation.
